20 people will be chosen random from those that sign in by a computer to take part in the “Tomato Warrior” Contest and the winner will be “the King of Stamina”. They should strike a specific pose as directed; other candidates will then throw tomatoes at him. The one who can stand for a longest time will be the winner “King of Stamina”, the award for who is an air-conditioner worth 2988 yuan.
All chosen candidates will receive a free ticket to experience Carting or watch a film.

The Tomato Fight started in the 1940s, for reasons unknown, in the village of Buñol, near Valencia. What began as a civil disturbance that was broken up by the police became adopted by the citizens of Buñol every year thereafter, eventually attracting huge international crowds. Various theories have been put forward about the exact origins of the event:
·It was the result of a street brawl near a grocery store.
·It was a practical joke on a particularly bad musician.
·The tomatoes were being thrown at an unpopular local politician.
·It was a school food fight that became adopted by the rest of the townsfolk.
Whatever the reason for the Buñol's annual food fight, the Tomatina Tomato Fight now attracts people from all over Spain and the rest of the world, each fourth Wednesday in August. |
