Built during the Wanli Period of the Ming Dynasty, the Jin'ao Tower is over 400 years old. It is an important relic and a cultural site currently under provincial government protection. It is a 40-meter high octagonal tower with a stone staircase built inside. Though the tower's design is simple, its silhouette is beautiful and grandiose. Scattered around the tower are gardens and trees placed near vivid stone statues of different shapes. They reveal the charm and beauty of an ancient stone sculpting art. From the top of the tall tower you can view the city proper and its green waterways. The Golden Ao Subject Garden matches this ancient tower, for the combination of the new parts and the old tower demonstrates the transition of Dongguan’s history while the linking of the new and old sceneries forms a potential scenic point and place for leisure.
